Nagi from Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2
The jacket is a mint colored Gabardine I picked up in LA when fabric shopping.
The shirt was handmade, and the front panels are pin-tucked. It was actually a very simple thing to make despite having to pattern it myself. I put it off thinking it would be a nightmare, but it was done in a few hours.
Most of this costume had to be uniquely patterned, but despite that, it ended up being a very easy project.
The part that took the longest was the wig. It’s heat resistant and didn’t want to curl. I had to use a curling iron at 380 degrees while spritzing it with cold water to keep the curl in. It’s such a thick wig, so it took several days of work. I had no idea just how heat resistant those fibers could be!
I was so lucky with the boots! I found some boots at a store while visiting in LA that were similar to hers. After a little bit of a hack job, I was able to modify them to look more like the boots she wears. While not perfect, they still worked out nicely.
The sword is a cheap wooden toy sword from San Fran’s Chinatown that has been re-wrapped and painted to match her sword. I wanted something clearly convention safe- something that could pass any convention’s weapons policy.
