(Fate/Stay Night)
I wanted to make Saber’s dress minus the armor and do something a little different. Since the dress didn’t have the benefit of shiny armor, I decided to pick different fabrics and embellish it a little bit. The dress is made of an upholstery fabric that is completely interfaced. It was a strange find, but I loved the color and the sheen so much that I went for it even though my original plan had been to use a velvet.
The white dress is made of bridal satin, and all of the scallops are edged with a satin stitch and machine embroidered. The 60 scallops took 10-12 hours to complete. Though it’s a detail that isn’t the first thing a person might notice, I’m happy I did it since I wanted to add something extra to the overall simple design.
I drafted the dress partially off of my earlier pattern. In total the dress took a week and a half of work to complete.
